Sunflowers by Van Gogh and Year 1

In Year 1 we studied the artist Van Gogh, who was a brilliant Dutch painter born on 30th March 1853. Van Gogh is famous for painting expressive portraits, self-portraits, landscapes and still lifes with oil paints. He created more than 2,100 pieces of art during his lifetime! We studied one of his most famous paintings, Sunflowers, painted in 1888. We then created our own sunflower inspired painting. We had to think about colour, composition and texture.
